Follow us on Twitter

As we work to get the new business to the starting gate, I have shifted my focus. We are getting close: Within about 60 days we anticipate having product for sale. Also, within a couple of weeks the new website should be live! To track our progress please follow us on our twitter account: DBELAGA

Once we are live, I will be a lot less cryptic about everything. But it is all very exciting...coming to market with a new, patented product, scientifically shown to optimize athletic endurance and performance. Stay tuned!

Found a new one - "Honey Stinger"

Any of you into working out and sports? Energy is one of the keys. I tried Honey Stinger (Strawberry flavored). Not bad taste, but made me feel a little sluggish. How about you?

Mareblu Trail Mix

This line of products is quite tasty. I am partial to their Blueberry Pomegranate. But, I have only found it in Costco. It is fairly healthy: one 28g serving (I think that is pretty small - bars are usually about 40-50g) is 174 calories, has 5g of protein and only 9g of carbs. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Three Senses Gourmet - Chocolate Souffle

Well, it has been a while, because I was out of town.

Calling chocolate lovers. This product is pretty amazing. If you get the chance, pick it up in the freezer case. I will admit, I am NOT a chocoholic but this dessert is awesome-tasting. Try it and let me know if you don't agree.

By the way - for those that care, it is also gluten-free.

New Snack Food - Pringles Stix

As a salty-snack lover, I am always on the look-out for new offerings. I was recently in a store and came upon these new crackers. As far as I can tell, they are available in Crunchy Wheat, Pizza, Honey Butter and Vanilla. I tried and liked the Vanilla. Have you found them in your stores? Did you like them? Let me know.

A New Brand of Honey that supports Environmental Conservation

I was at the supermarket (King Soopers/Kroger) the other day and found a new brand of Honey, from "down under." It is called Capilano and it is tied in with Steve Irwin's (The late "Croc Hunter") - Conservation Projects, which is an appealing extra! But the main reasons that I most like it are two-fold: 1) It is good-tasting (Australian Honey) and 2) It comes in convenient single serve packets. Check it out yourself and let me know what you think!

Mass Produced Bread - Does anyone care?

I don't know about you! But I have found over the years, unless a loaf is one of those locally made artisan breads, I don't really notice any real difference and the taste/mouthfeel experience is nothing special! To me, bread is bread, whether it is whole wheat, multi-grain, white, ciabatta, cracked wheat etc. However, I must admit that I have found one brand that seems to be more palatable than the Wonder breads of the world. That bread is Roman Meal. For that kind of mass market product, I think this one is pretty good.

Have you tried it? What do you think?

Are you looking for an all natural chewing gum?

There is a small brand that has been around for a few years, it is called Glee Gum. It is actually made with the chicle from Central America, not the rubber stuff used by most of the big brands. So far, the only places I have found it is in specialty health food stores like Wild Oats and Vitamin Cottage. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Halls ProHealth Defense

Have you tried all the natural cold remedies like Airborne? They don't seen to provide any benefits - maybe because they don't have much in them besides vitamins which are good but not major immunity enhancers (other than Vitamin C). I always look for a lozenge with a blend of Zinc, Echinacea and Vitamin C. But, one product worth giving a try might be Halls ProHealth. It has Vitamins A, C, E plus Zinc and a variety of herbs. Try it and let me know what your experience is!

Vicks Early Defense - Hand Sanitizer

Have you checked this out yet? Nice foam, even if it is essentially the same concept as Purell, but talk about a weird fragrance! It's, get this, cucumber mint? Is that different or what? What is your reaction?

One that didn't make it - Ice Breakers - Pacs

Did you ever get to try these before they were gone? I really liked them as a new and different product idea. But, Hershey's bowed to pressure that the looked too much like a street drug. That is too bad. On top of everything, they were made with Xylitol which has been shown to be good for your teeth!

New Product: Crest Weekly Clean Intensive Cleaning Paste

Have you heard about this yet? I just learned about it today. I know, I know... Crest is a huge brand, but the new product is a compliment. It is not for daily brushing. That doesn't sound like what we are used to using. We'll have to stay tuned for more info!
Has anyone else gotten anything on this product? If so, please post here. Thanks

Do you want to weigh in on your favorite sunglasses brand?

Now I know that there are many brands out there like Oakley, Ray-Ban and the designers, but I have really liked one brand of sport glasses. Have you heard about Rudy Project? They are excellent for a range of sports. You should definitely check them out at www.e-rudy.com They also have goggles, helmets and clothing.

Peanut Butter Alternative

Have you tried any soy nut butter in the past? If you have tried them, as I have, you may be skeptical. But, I have found one that is amazing. It is called I.M. Healthy, soynut butter and it is impressive! Plus they also offer a chocolate version which is great for melting and dipping fruit into for a healthy tasty snack. You really should try it!!!

Disclaimer - I am a nut and nut products junkie - Love the stuff and this is a very good one.

What do you think of these flavored waters?

The one that I have tried is Metromint. The peppermint version is pretty strong. Not sure I am a big fan, yet. I want to try some of the others. What do you think about cherrymint or chocolatemint water? Have your tried any yet?

Looking for a non-dairy way to get probiotics?

The team that originally developed SILK Soy Milk, has come up with a new product. It is called Good Belly and it is a fruit-based way to get those good "bugs" found in dairy products like yogurt. These gut-health enhancing bugs improve digestion and have been shown to even help with the symptoms of IBS. Many people on antibiotics have been shown to lose these good intestinal digestive aids.

I have tried the Strawberry Rosehips version and it is quite tasty! Right now it is in limited distribution, but I am sure you'll be able to look for it to roll-out nationally!

For those that prefer Non-Dairy Frozen Snacks

If you like ice cream but can't or don't want to eat dairy products, I have a recommendation. Check out Tofutti brand products including Cuties "Ice Cream" sandwiches. They don't seem to do a lot of marketing, but they do make good quality products. Have you tried them? What do you think?

Not sure this is a Brand but it is a very cool new product

In the realm of high-end (read expensive) "toys", this is a new mono-flipper for underwater diving. Check out their site: http://www.lunocet.com/blog/

Even though it is not a small brand, I want to go on record stating my commitment to Diet Dr. Pepper. It is one of my favorites.

A helpful new desktop information management tool - Evernote

Do you find it difficult to track all of your bookmarks over time? Do you find it hard to remember what is in all those links that you have saved? Or, where a certain file is? Well, I have recently discovered a new simple new applet that is free, download-able and easy to use. It is called "Evernote" and I have been using it for the past several weeks. I recommend it highly as a convenient tool for organizing your desktop. It is still in Beta and so is being updated with new functionality all the time, but you should give it a try! I think you'll be hooked. You need to ask for an invitation, but you can get one when you send an email to: bizhacks@gmail.com
Enjoy!

Talking Rain

I have another product (CPG Brand) that I enjoy. It is called Talking Rain and is a clean, simple flavored sparkling water without any sweeteners. I first found it in Costco, but they are no longer stocking that version of the product. Too Bad, the one they replaced it with, Crystal Geyser, does not have the same flavor.
